Onewheel Recall - All Models

We are announcing a voluntary recall of all Onewheel electric skateboards, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The skateboards can stop balancing the rider if the boards’ limits are exceeded, posing a crash hazard that can result in serious injury or death.

To address this, we have developed an innovative new safety alert feature called “haptic buzz” that will be available to Onewheel GT, Pint X, Pint, and XR riders through an important firmware update. Haptic buzz is an alert riders can hear and feel when experiencing certain situations that can result in a crash. Haptic buzz is designed to work in conjunction with the existing pushback safety feature to help riders further recognize that the board’s ability to balance may soon be exceeded so they can lean back and slow down to avoid crashing. We ask that you please take the appropriate action for your model(s) as described below:

GT, Pint X, Pint, & XR:

1. Make sure you have the latest version of the Onewheel app once the firmware update is available.
2. Open your Onewheel app and follow the on-screen prompts to install the firmware update.
3. Resume riding.

The update will be available within one week after the recall announcement for GT and within six weeks for the Pint X, Pint, and XR.

Original Onewheel & Onewheel+:

These models are not eligible for the firmware update and should not be used.

Please enter your serial number below to Check Eligibility, confirm possession and receive a prorated discount credit of $100 toward the purchase of a new Onewheel.

You should not use Onewheels that are not updated or that are not eligible for the firmware update. You must have the Onewheel app installed to download and install the firmware update. If you do not already have the Onewheel app, you should download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play to install the firmware update.

Rider safety is our top priority and is critical to the long-term success of the sport. This is why we also strongly encourage all riders to always wear a helmet and other protective gear while riding.

This update is the culmination of months of work with the CPSC and we are proud to make continued improvements toward creating the best possible experience for our riders.

 

Onewheel GT Recall

Future Motion has announced a voluntary safety recall of the front footpad for the Onewheel GT.

The footpad can fail to disengage after the rider has dismounted while the board is in motion and the Onewheel can unexpectedly continue to operate, posing an injury hazard to bystanders.

Consumers can contact Future Motion to determine whether their footpad is included in this recall and receive a free replacement front footpad, including free shipping and installation instructions. Visit https://recall.onewheel.com or call 800-283-7943 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT, Monday through Friday.

Consumers should stop using the GT with recalled footpads until they have installed the replacement footpads.

No other Onewheel Footpads are subject to this recall.
